Supporting prostate cancer research

The Who and When of prostate cancer online communities

Denise Pyle, University of South Queensland

This study explores who does and who does not use online prostate cancer communities. It seeks to identify what influences your use of online prostate cancer communities, and what deters you from using online prostate cancer communities.

Participation in this study involves completion of two questionnaires:

  1. Baseline Questionnaire – comprises 126 questions that will take approximately 45 to 60 minutes of your time. You can complete this questionnaire in hardcopy or online, at your own pace (i.e., it does not need to be completed in one go), and at a time and place convenient for you.
  2. Six-Month Follow-Up Questionnaire – comprises 4 questions that will take approximately 5 minutes of your time. You may choose to complete this questionnaire by phone or online, and at a time and place convenient for you.

Ethics approval has been granted by University of Southern Queensland Human Research Ethics Committee.
